Hi everyone,

I have a 1967 2000cs that I am working on. I plan on refinishing the dash and will have to remove the 2 round air vents in the center. How are they removed? Can I just pull them out or are there retaining clips or screws somewhere in there? I really don't want to damage the dash. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Charlie

I am sorry I was not able to reply to your question as I do not have the experience.

BTW: How did you manage to get them out in the end?

Hi Muf

I haven't gotten to the dash yet, I'm still preparing the vehicle for paint. Sanding and more sanding. I'll keep you posted on what I find out. Thanks for the reply.

Charlie

I'm pretty sure that they are held in from behind. Be careful. I have a spare dash, but getting to it requires moving a lot of other stuff, so it may be a while.

Bill and hdx 120,

Thank you for the information. Your advice is greatly appreciated. I'm not thrilled with the prospects of taking out the dash. I'll do it very carefully. I will get back out to the garage after the holidays.
